Man suffers serious injuries in single motor vehicle collision

Last Friday afternoon, a 47-year-old man was airlifted to a Toronto area trauma hospital following a single motor vehicle collision on Conc. 7, south of Chalk Lake Road.

According to the Durham Region Police Service, North Division, a white GMC Sierra, driven by the man, was travelling southbound when it lost control, failed to negotiate the curve, entered the east ditch, and struck some trees. The driver was extracted by Uxbridge Fire Services and airlifted via Air Ornge to a Toronto area trauma centre.

The road was closed for several hours while members of the Collision Investigation Unit.

Police say alcohol may have been a factor in this collision.
