“We’ve been doing the pub crawl informally for years, prior to the beginning of COVID,” says Pipe Major Nathan Maskerine. “It began as a way for some band members to get together for an extra gig, enjoy some camaraderie and a few libations.”

Maskerine says that over the years, more and more people asked to join in, and the event has now been put on their yearly parade sheet.

They will begin at Universal Wings and Burgers (21 Brock St. W.) at 7:30 p.m., this Saturday, March 16. They will then proceed to Col. McGrady’s Pub & Grill (44 Brock St. W.), move on to Wixan’s Bridge (65 Brock St. W.) and finish off the crawl at The Corner House Pub and Grill (104 Brock St. W.).

“We plan to play for about 10 minutes at each establishment,” says Maskerine. “We have four quick sets of tunes, and will be hanging around each place to have a bevvie and socialize, and of course, if the crowd would like more - we’ll have a few encores ready to go.”

The Uxbridge Pipes and Drums meet every Monday evening at the Uxbridge Legion, and offer free pipe and drum lessons from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit uxbridgepipeband.com
