Sparks and Embers donate native trees, shrubs

On Tuesday, April 30, a group of girls from the 2nd Uxbridge Sparks and the Uxbridge Embers (Girl Guides aged 5 - 7) planted trees and shrubs for the town, across from 105 Second Ave.

Several invasive Manitoba maple trees had to be removed, but the group donated 36 native species shrubs for the land. Norine Blyth from the Uxbridge Trails Committee was on hand to teach the girls about invasive species and how to manage them. Councillor Zed Pickering also helped.
