Whiteouts cause pile-up near Udora

A medical helicopter was called in Tuesday morning to transport a person injured in a nine-vehicle pile-up on Regional Road 1 near Udora.

Chief Fire Prevention Officer Ken Maynard of the Uxbridge fire department said the multi-vehicle crash was caused by whiteout conditions in the area. Three fire trucks and 13 firefighters attended the scene.

Maynard said the road was closed to allow for a police investigation.
