Developer brings demands to council
Roger Varley
In both a deputation via video and a letter at Monday’s council meeting, the Bridgebrook Corporation urged council to grant their proposed development north of Quaker Village enough wastewater servicing allocation to accommodate the needs of 1,260 persons. Bridgebrook representatives also asked that, if council is not prepared to grant the request immediately and instead has township staff review Bridgebrook's presentation, council should "direct staff to bring forward a publicly available report in response to Bridgebrook’s request to a subsequent council meeting in June 2024."
Bridgebrook proposes to construct more than 500 housing units - including single detached houses, link houses and townhouses - on a 40-hectare parcel of land running from Concession 7 east to Centre Road.
Following the Bridgebrook presentation, there were no questions or comments from council. Instead, Councillor Todd Snooks moved that both the deputation and the letter be referred to staff.
