New all-way stop on York-Durham line

A new all-way stop is now in place at the intersection of Sandford Road (Regional Road 11)/Herald Road and York Durham Line (Regional Road 30).

Beginning July 25, the new all-way stop will require all drivers in each direction to stop their vehicle before entering the intersection and yield the right-of-way to the first vehicle or other road user to come to a complete stop. The Region of Durham, in support of Durham Vision Zero, says “this enhancement will improve safety by providing a controlled crossing for all road users.”

Durham Vision Zero is a long-term, multi-agency strategy to create safer roads for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. Learn more at durham.ca/VisionZero.
