Uxbridge’s popular Catch the Ace lottery starts up again on Thursday, Feb. 20, raising funds for a new community hospital. This is the second round of Catch the Ace being run by the Rotary Club of Uxbridge, working with the Uxbridge Hospital Foundation to engage the community in a fun and exciting event.
The Ace was found in the first Catch the Ace lottery on Jan. 16; Uxbridge resident Dianne F. won a total prize of $16,892 for finding the lucky card.
Participants purchase tickets online at www.uxhospitalace.ca. Every Thursday morning a ticket is drawn, and that person receives a weekly prize of 20 per cent of that week’s sales. Weekly prizes in last fall’s lottery were as much as $852. The person who uncovers the Ace of Spades also wins the Progressive Jackpot, which has a guaranteed minimum value of $10,000. The more tickets that are sold, the bigger the prizes, and the greater the amount raised for the hospital.
Uxbridge Rotary Club president Terry Chapman said, “We had great participation from the community in the first lottery and we expect this one will be even bigger. Our local hospital is a cause that everyone can get behind. We all win with this lottery.”
