Ticket resale sites attempt to divert Music Hall visitors

A great, green ogre is coming to Uxbridge Music Hall, and ‘bot ticket sites are misleading potential theatre goers when they go online to buy their tickets.

Ryleepuss Productions’ version of Shrek The Musical opens this weekend, and those who want tickets are being made aware that there are only two websites where tickets for the show are actually for sale. Go to either starticketing.com or through the Uxbridge Music Hall’s website, uxbridgemusichall.com

One community member on social media posted “Looking at tickets to Shrek at the Music Hall in US$?” Several sponsored ticket resale sites appear to be popping up at the top of a search, and are posting inflating ticket prices in U.S. dollars.

Star Ticketing is aware that ticket resale sites are trying to divert sales from starticketing.com, the only authorized ticket seller for the Music Hall.

“We will be reporting these sites to Google as acting fraudulently,” says Joel Van Veghel, a representative of Star Ticketing.

Tickets for Shrek The Musical can also be purchased at the door.
