Township sports a million-dollar payroll

Ontario has issued its annual "Sunshine List" report and the list shows the top jobs in Uxbridge make up a million-dollar payroll. It also shows that the Township employees on the list averaged a pay increase of just over 14 per cent in 2024. (ontariosunshinelist.com)

Every year, the Ontario government releases its Sunshine List, which documents public sector employees with salaries of over $100,000.

Leading the parade in Uxbridge is Chief Administrative Officer Kristi Honey, whose salary for 2024 is listed at $198,785, an increase of 10 per cent. Then comes Township clerk Debbie Leroux and Amanda Ferraro, director of community services, who both received $166,160, an increase of just over 14 per cent.

Next in line is Public Works director Ben Kester, who pulled down $163,950, for an increase of 13 per cent. Treasurer Tobi Lee had an 11.6-per-cent increase to $161,312 and fire chief Mike MacDonald moved to $159,900, a 12.2-per-cent increase.

Bill Rynard of Public Works earned $132,048, up 25.3 per cent, and Hilary Williams joined the Sunshine List for the first time. As both chief bylaw office and director of development services, Williams received $127,269.

The total remuneration for the top eight employees rounds out to $1.275 million. The salary figures do not include benefits.Most of those named here saw benefits in the $1,311 range.
