The Zephyr Scott Lions Club now has a home. The club, which was formed last year, has signed a five-year lease with the Township to use the Zephyr community hall twice a month for meetings and will also be given storage space.
The official charter party will take place on Saturday, April 26, at the Zephyr community hall.
Earlier in the council meeting, Ward 2 councillor Gord Shreeve announced residents that the Zephyr public library has a free pass available for the Royal Ontario Museum. Residents with a Zephyr library card can sign the pass out, with identification. The pass provides entry to the ROM for four people, and can be taken out for either a weekend or a week. Deputy mayor Zed Pickering, who was chairing the meeting, said that his family had tried to book out the ROM pass, and that it was “a hot ticket, people are excited for it.”
